The 2.8 Ambience with optional solid wood end panels
This cabinet weighs in at a hefty 80 lbs with the end panels applied. This pair houses the Lowther DX2 drivers with the Audio Nirvana 8's on top. I have just started to burn these in, but I am immediately impressed by the stunning clarity and detail. I love these speakers already! The interior is MDF with solid Maple and a Walnut stripe applied to the sides, brown leather upholstery on the top cap adds a nice touch. I used Dayton 5-way binding posts, and a 1" foil backed rigid insulation (Owens Corning 703) in the top third of the cabinet for dampening in this twin port design. I am building a Bottlehead Paramount system for these and expect the final system to be awesome.
