Speaker Cabinets and Audio Projects

"Having been a music lover and musician my entire life, it seems completely natural that my woodworking skills would find a way to marry into the audio cabinetry world. I have built entire studios, speaker enclosures, consoles and storage cabinets, acoustic treatments, traps, and diffraction appliances for world class installations including Paul Reed Smith's Dragon Crossing studio, and my own Crafty Hands studio. One day not too long ago while searching for the best 'pointsource' fullrange speaker I could afford for a new stereo system I was building for myself, I had the good fortune to come across CommonSense Audio and David Dicks. After a lengthy discussion with him I discovered he was no longer producing the cabinets for his speakers, and I now have the privilege of being an authorized cabinet maker for CommonSense Audio. Please visit the CommonSense Audio website and discover why the very best speakers do not have to be complicated or even expensive. If you decide to go with one of the remarkably great sounding speaker designs available there, or to take advantage of their free cabinet design service when purchasing their drivers, give me a call or email and we can discuss your cabinet specs and come up with a price.

I also have a licensing agreement with Martin J. King to offer his remarkable TQWT cabinet. We will build this enclosure from whatever material you require and will assist you in driver selection and purchasing. The prototype built here was made from a high density particle board and was actually started as a curiosity. This cabinet is now one of three designs in rotation in my home listening room. It is an amazing enclosure that will surprise you with the bass response coaxed from a single driver, and it looks great too. The ML TQWT.

I have also just finished the Lowther Fidelio rear firing horn cabinet, and it is quite nice. Pictures will post as the veneer work is done. If you would like any of these cabinets built, please give us a call or email. You can be certain that any product you get from Wyatt Woodworking will be of the highest quality and will be professionally packed and shipped, either assembled or in a flat pack for the DIY builder to complete and finish." -  Frank Wyatt

Wyatt Woodworking Cabinets and prices

For stock pricing I am offering the following CommonSense Audio models in a black walnut veneer, maple veneer, or an unfinished MDF for the end user to paint. I use M.L.Campbell Magnalac satin for the topcoats on the veneered cabinets that I assemble. Flat packs are unfinished. I also offer solid wood panels which can will be added to the sides in either Maple or Walnut (call or email for pricing on solid hardwood panels and see the 2.8 Ambience link below for an example of these panels) All enclosures are built to David Dick's specifications and will be shipped ready for you to install the acoustic damping, driver mounting hardware, binding posts, internal wiring and drivers. I will do this for you for an additional $100.00 per pair. Custom cabinetry for your own designs will be bid on a per job basis. Whatever your building requirements, I will be happy to have a look and give you an estimate.

NEW: As I have been asked by several clients to provide "flat packs" I now offer these cabinets in that format. All the enclosure parts are accurately cut to fit easily together. The DIY builder can assemble and finish the cabinets as they wish. I can provide some of the hardware for speaker mounting, terminal connections, and baffle mounts and will bore for those items if you like. Driver cutouts will be made to specifications requested. I do not mount or bore for the speaker nuts as individual requirements vary greatly. If there is some configuration not listed here email me for pricing.
