The Cup-a-Soup (Wyatt Woodworking model WWCS)
This is the Tony Gee designed two way speaker featuring the excellent German made Thiel & Partner ceramic drivers. I decided to offer two different crossover builds to leave a bit of flexibility in the pricing. The standard crossover includes Obligatto caps, Mundorf metal oxide film resistors and Solen perfect lay inductors and the upgraded crossover is built using Mundorf Silver-Oil caps and Goertz Copper Foil inductors. The crossover components may also be customized at the purchasers request. Drivers used are the Thiel & Partner C90-T6-89 (previously identified as C-89-T6) and the C25-6-12 (previously identified as the C12-6). The enclosures shown are veneered with African Rosewood and have solid Sapelle wood inserts at the bass reflex port opening. They are lined with an epdm dampening material and stuffed with an acoustic fibrous tangle. Break in time is estimated to be eight weeks under normal listening conditions. Cabinets measure 16" tall x 6.75" wide x 11.75" deep and weigh 21.8 lbs. with drivers installed. These small cabinets will amaze you with the musical detail and tight bass they deliver...a really fantastic speaker system. Crossover:
I have built a matching stand for these cabinets. It will be available in whatever veneer you choose for your speakers.
