The Soft Machine by William S. Burroughs ~ The book that inspired the Soft Machine name. This is an adventurous read, somewhat troubling. If you have read Naked Lunch then you will know what I mean. Burroughs uses his body as the metaphor for the machine, and the main theme of the book (as explicitly written in an appendix) concerns how control mechanisms invade the body. Paperback: 178 pages, Publisher: Grove Press; Reprint edition (September 1992), Language: English, ISBN: 0802133290 |
